Piazza Sordello proved itself to be the perfect setting for the only Italian date on Elton John's recent tour, and watching the concert from the Palace windows was an incredible experience. The audience, some 8000 people, were ready to go from the opening notes of 'The Bitch is Back' and 'Bennie and the Jets', old hits which always open his concerts. Elton was incredible as always, engaging, theatrical and touching, getting the crowd moving to 'Crocodile Rock' and bringing us to tears with Candle in the Wind, the final song in honour of the twentieth anniversary of Princess Diana's death.
